Orléans The Plague [Expansion]

Mon Dieu, quelle horreur! Now the inhabitants of ORLÉANS have been hit hard; the plague has come upon them and is bringing suffering and misery to the population. There are many deaths to mourn and even the clergy can do little to counteract this. Only the plague doctor can bring relief and hope to the suffering inhabitants, but ultimately everyone is on their own and must try to protect their followers as best they can...
Right from the start, the conditions are made more difficult by the “plague cards”. Sometimes there are fewer monks in the game, sometimes gears cannot be placed on location cards, or building offices has to be paid for with an additional coin.
New events are now also linked to the "corpse tiles", of which the players must put a certain number in their bag at the end of each round. These are then randomly drawn from the bag at the start of the round and take up valuable space on the market place because they cannot be used for any action. To get rid of them once and for all, a player can complete indulgence cards by making pilgrimages, making donations or fulfilling other conditions, which also earn victory points at the end of the game. Fortunately, each player has a "plague doctor" at his side, a new figure that is available in (almost) every round and can be used universally.

The expansion for up to 5 players requires the basic game ORLÉANS.
ORLÉANS THE PLAGUE is the 3rd major expansion to the basic game and will be released in a German/English edition for SPIEL 2023. Approx. 55 cards, a new tableau "Blessed Works", new events and the new game figure "Plague Doctor" ensure a completely new gaming experience
